I am a member of the Sandwich Generation, a Baby Boomer raising a teenage daughter and dealing with the needs of an aging mother. I am a veteran journalist, having worked for more than three decades as a reporter and editor. Mostly recently, I was an editor with the Metro section of The Washington Post.
In this blog, I will not only share the joys and trials of juggling the needs of a 16-year-old and an 80-year-old, I also want to hear your life stories. Through these conversations, I hope we all will learn from each other on this adventurous path of mothering and aging.

A healthy challenge
WABW bloggers Yvonne and Mae are back with a few of their friends to try again to trim their waistlines in our Melt the Middle Health Challenge. All are hoping to trim it down in time for either their 40th high school reunion (Yvonne and friends) or Mother's Day (Mae and friends).
So, follow them and cheer them on.
Tell Me Your Story
Those of us in the Sandwich Generation have our own unique stories to tell about ourselves, our children and our parents; tips to share and advice to guide each other. Share your stories here on Juggling Act. And let’s try to get through this together - with ease.
